The Enright Green Group Task Force (EGG)

EGG promotes green living practices as a way to help residents save money and conserve the Earth’s resources. Jim Drommond is the current chair. EGG develops programs and activities to enhance the quality of life, improve the character, and increase the enjoyability of the Enright Ridge Urban Eco Village neighborhood and community. All are welcome!

Under the leadership of Deborah Jordan, EGG was responsible for the Central Ohio River Valley Local Food Initiative For the past 2 years, we have co-produced a Local Food Guide noting area growers, farmers markets, and other food-related resources.

The Farm Project Task Force

The EGG task force gave life to the Farm Project in winter 2008-09 when an old greenhouse in the 800 block of Enright came on the market.  The Project required the collaboration of the ERUEV, Imago and the Huber Foundation and could not have been attempted without commitment from village residents with experience in farming, gardening, Community Supported Agrictulture (CSA), construction, and fund raising.  The work of many volunteers from the Ecovillage, local families, schools and universities made it possible to start a Community Supported Agriculture program in the first season of the project and the shareholders also contribute greatly to the Project.

The Farm Project Task Force separated from the EGG Task Force in August 2009.  Our primary activities at present are running the CSA, completing the rehab of the greenhouse, and raising funds to pay for same.

Providing a model for growing food in an urban setting is one goal of the project.  Building community, and educating people about food issues are ways that the farm project furthers the mission of the ERUEV.  The Farm Project Task force will begin convening in September (date TBA).  Members of ERUEV with an interest in these goals and ideas are welcome to join.  You may be asked to wear gloves and bring a hoe :-)

Housing Committee

We believe that sustainable neighborhoods rely on the availability of quality housing alternatives. Ecovillage members live in apartments or own, share or rent houses on Enright Avenue. The housing committee works hard to “green” houses that are on the market, organize volunteer assistants for new home owners, make available housing known to the wider community of Price Hill, welcome new neighbors and much, much more.
